Chief Gary Adams took over as police chief for the City of Richmond Police Department on April 6, 2015.
 
With over 40 years of experience in law enforcement, Chief Adams began his career in his home town of Texarkana, Texas, in 1975, working his way up through the ranks to Chief of police in 1993. After serving the City of Texarkana for twenty-five years, he left to accept the chief’s position with the City of University Park, Texas, where he served for over thirteen years, before accepting the Police Chief position in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

Chief Adams is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
