PHF Donation Ceremony - Preston St Comm Gardens
Jul. 14, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

The Pecan Harvest Festival will conduct a donation ceremony to support the Preston St Community Gardens efforts in the Richmond Community. Please join us for a brief donation ceremony and provide thanks to the voluunteers who work so hard to grow the plants and maintain the gardens for for our community.

The Preston Street Community Garden was founded by Calvary Episcopal Church in 2008. The purpose is to serve the needs of the community of North Richmond and to educate and involve the community in growing fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables. The garden is under the management of the Friends of North Richmond and Calvary, with support from First Baptist Church, Richmond.

There are four table beds, 29 raised beds and eight large community production beds.  Fresh produce from fall and spring plantings in the community beds is donated to Helping Hands and the Women's Shelter.  In addition, there is an adjacent Bell Garden that can be used for social gatherings or for meditation.  It contains beautiful seasonal flowers, trees and shrubs, a fountain, an altar, an antique bell and two memorial benches.

WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP?

Very simply phrased, it’s people interacting with horses.  The program focus is two-fold: teaching riding skills and incorporating potential therapeutic benefits into the riding lesson.

The rhythmic way that horses move mimics the human movement of walking. In riding a horse, the stride of the horse actually moves the rider’s pelvis by rotating and moving from side to side, similar to the human walk. This creates a unique neuromuscular stimulation. As the horse adjusts its gait, the rider also must constantly adjust the speed of their own pelvic motion.

Aside from riding, the relationship with the horse is developed as part of their therapeutic goals. Participants take part in the care and grooming of the horse, such as brushing, bathing

Mick Rudskyi - Bridgital
Jul. 28, 2026 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Mick Rudskyi is the owner of Bridgital, where he's building an operating system that lets a fractional executive run their whole business from one place, powered by AI. He teaches one-on-one executives how to start using their Claude like their assistant instead of a glorified Google. Most people treat AI like a smarter search engine. Mick shows them the other side: AI connected to the tools they already use, handling the email, scheduling, and follow-ups so they can focus on the work that actually pays. Direct, practical, and allergic to BS, Mick is on a mission to give experts the same operating power as a full team.
