Steve Onstad and other club members will address the plans for the 2026 Turkey Leg Booth at the Ft Bend County Fair from September 24th through October 4th. Club's volunteer online sign up system (SignUp Genius) has been activated and members are encourage to signup and select their desired dates and tasks. Remember, each club member is responsible to perform at 16 hours of volunteer service (4 - 4hr shifts). There will also be Setup/ Booth Prepartion activities prior to Thursday Sept 24th Test Run and the Fair's Opening day of Friday, September 25th. For NEW MEMBERS, please come to this meeting, so that you can learn about this important fundraisring activity. We will discuss: Booth Sales and Packaging activities, Health department, food cleanliness and requirements, dress codes/ hair nets and hats and aprons. Sales activities involving: pricing details, handling money / handling TL's / wrapping TL's and conserving booth supplies and condiments/ operation of the Square Credit card processing unit/ entering transactions & correcting mistakes/ WIFI internet accces and codes. Whether you have Rotary logoware or need to order some. Cook/ Assistant Cook Duties: Learn about cooking requitrements, how to start and operate roaster, monitor temperature, where TL's are stored, the passcode, how boxes to cook, how to load roaster and remove and stage TL's for booth sales. AND MUCH MORE. Booth Pre-Fair Maintentance: Should booth maintentance be needed before the Fair starts, volunteers may be needed. A call out for volunteers will be made at Booth Setup day.

The September Rotary Board meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wagas and Deanne's new business location Jungle Jym at 1828, Suite 170, Rosenberg, TX 77471 (off Hwy 36 just past Fairgrounds). Wagas is excited to introduce the board and members to thier new business and host our board meeting in September. This is a tentative date, because Wagas is hoping to get the necessary chairs and tables in and setup, Ha Ha Ha! Will update everyone prior to the meeting. |

Helene Webster is an experienced nonprofit leader with more than 23 years of experience in association management, fundraising, organizational leadership, and community outreach. She spent 21 years with the Independent Electrical Contractors Association, beginning as Membership Director in 2004 and moving up to ultimately serve as Executive Director from 2020-2025. She simultaneously worked in health and wellness teaching Kinesiology at Lone Star College and her local YMCA for 26 years. As a mother of four children, she was moved to bring her extensive nonprofit experience and passion for helping others when she was asked to work for the Myocarditis Foundation as their Executive Director in 2025. She is dedicated to increasing awareness and education about myocarditis, raising funds for extensive research, supporting patients and families affected by the disease, and helping advance the Foundation's mission. |

The Rotary Club of Richmond Turkey Leg Fundraiser will be conducted starting with Thursday, Set. 24th "Test Run", followed by event days Friday Sept. 25th thru Sunday, Oct. 4th. All Club members are expected to participate by working on a scheduled basis for a minimum of 4 shifts of 4hours each. Based on additional voluntaeers availability, members will be asked to work additional hours as needed. A work schedule will be developed and will be distributed no later than Sept. 1st.

The Rotary Club of Richmond will conducte the 2026 Pecan Havest Festival on Saturday, November 2st. Setup: 7am to 10am Event: 10am to 4pm Closing: 4pm to 6pm All club members are expected to participate in PHF activities including Setup, Event and Closing activities. Each member is expected to participate at least 6 hours during the PHF event cycle. Additional scheduling may be needed based on the availability of community volunteers. Member scheduling will be available no later than Nov. 1st.
