Mayor Cynthia A. McConathy was elected Mayor of the City of Rosenberg in May 2015. Before her election to Mayor, she had served as Councilor At Large, Position 2 since May 2011. 

 

Mayor McConathy is retired from a career in information technology that spanned a variety of business sectors including education, insurance, oil and gas, telecommunications, banking, and state agencies. She is a graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School and Houston Community College, where she earned an Associate’s  Degree of Applied Science. Mayor McConathy is an licensed minister, and has served on the Rosenberg Planning Commission and the City’s Sign Review Task Force.

 

She is active in many local charities/outreach efforts and is a leader/teacher at First Assembly of God, Rosenberg.
